I ran 100 m dash for the first time on track in 25 years and explained why and talked about my latest shoes. After recording this, I realized why I was a bit limp: I had done an unusual (therefore taxing) workout the day before (lifting with legs). It was Christmas eve and not hot, it was about +4C, but since it was so hard work running, the track was almost wet, I got very warm. As usual it had been snowing in December and knowing it would again, I wanted to do this attempt first. The new runners are Reebok outdoor hardsole shoes with rough texture (short square studs) not meant for track running, I think that's also why I got so warm. They are meant to replace my likewise hard Adidas runners that I've shown here (now broken, but still very fast) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VfswhSH8RrQ In the video you can see how I decelerate quickly from 30 km/h to zero, this is new for me. I did not mention it in the video, but another reason than hamstrings preventing track running, is that my feet did not last 100 m due to injuries in my plantar (it means foot, underside) muscles. But it was possible to start practise 60 m run earlier. Now finally plantar muscles are strong enough for my size for the first time (I got injuries 1989-1990 age 16). Meanwhile recording, mayhem. Bodyweight is 110 kg, too much for great times. Bodyfat is 11%, too much for great times. Leg press max that I've dared to try is 360 kg which is a bit too little for dash at my height. I start quickly but with my big frame I need more oomph when air resistance sets in.
