Indian and South Korean FMs meet in Delhi

(19 Dec 2018) South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha met her Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Wednesday. Both ministers co-chaired the 9th India-South Korea Joint Commission meeting. During the meeting, the ministers discussed bilateral issues as well as regional and international issues, including the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Kang said that both countries aimed to increase bilateral trade to 50 billion US dollars by 2030, following up on one of the decisions taken during the visit of South Korea's president to India in July. Indian exports to Korea amounted to 2.91 billion US dollars and imports to India were valued at 8.70 billion US dollars in the period from January to July 2017, according to the South Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance.
