Original Air Date: March 7th, 2009 This is a game sample for the Namco RPG, Great Greed. The game is a fair RPG effort from Namco, but it is forgotten behind many of Namco's later works. The game is more or less a one-on-one RPG in the vein of the original Dragon Warrior in terms of setup, though there are some things that set it apart. Every once and a while, you get a "party member" who you cannot control who does very specific actions in combat such as boost your hero's attack, defense, etc. The visuals are also typical to many old RPGs, though the game has fairly detailed enemy models for a portable RPG of the early nineties. The story is also cookie-cutter, but the game has a little personality due to the naming of various characters and locations. Several people and places are named after food. For example, you will meet a princess named Cup Cake, or visit a place known as Burger...things of that nature. Encounter rate is high...eh. The game is OK.
