Some 95 mm² Copper earth cable was added to and existing 70 mm² earth grid for equipotential bonding.
It is very important that the cable to be cad welded is dry and clean, the crucible is clean and pre-warmed and the cable fits snugly in the apertures. Some putty avoids the liquid copper runaway from in between the strands.
This is an exothermic reaction which reaches within a fraction of a second a temperature of well over 1085°C to fuse the copper cable ends together.
