A panel of very different voices examines strategies of steadfast truth telling. Margo Jefferson, the author of Negroland: A Memoir, speaks of the contradictions of authenticity and identity among the black elite. Adrian Molina (Molina Speaks) is a writer, poet, performance artist, recording artist, professor and community educator. Ryan Gattis is the author of Kung Fu High School, The Big Drop: Homecoming & Impermanence and All Involved: A Novel of the 1992 L.A. David Barsamian is the Director of Alternative Radio and has engaged with public intellectuals of the world in his line of work as a radio broadcaster and journalist. Together, they discuss their experiences of swimming against the tide of prejudice and popular perception.
