The song is performed by the actor, director Vladimir Menshov in the program "The ships came to our harbour" Semyon Osipovich Friedland was a Soviet photographer and journalist He was born in 1905 in Kiev in the family of the Jew- shoemaker Osip Moiseevich Fridland. Having graduated from school in1922, he worked in the magazine Ogonek , which at that time was headed by his cousin, the famous Soviet journalist and writer Mikhail Koltsov, first an assistant to a photo correspondent, and then a photojournalist. In 1930 , he moved to the photo agency Union (later Soyuzphoto), where he worked until 1932 as a photo reporter, editor and head of the mass department. In 1932 he graduated from the camera faculty of the State Institute of Cinematography .From 1932 he worked in the magazine "USSR at the construction site" . Since 1933 he was a photojournalist for the central party daily newspaper Pravda . In the late 1930's he became chairman of the Association of Moscow photoreports. During the Great Patriotic War , Friedland became photographer for Sovinformburo, the information and propaganda department of the USSR ...and it is from this period I present in this video.
