This talk focuses on the "breeding" and "killing" of hundreds of generations of computer programs/bots as a way to accomplish certain complex tasks. For example, playing a video game or guessing a word. This is commonly referred to as a genetic algorithm for optimization in machine learning. They are typically not among the most efficient such algorithms for common problems, but they are no doubt the most interesting ones to look at and draw "inspirations" from. Felix is a 9th grader at Phillips Exeter Academy This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
