On July 17, 2001, Msgr. Francis T. McFarland died of a sudden heart attack. It was a devastating blow to all those who considered him a friend, so many of whom had never even met him. On the 10th anniversary of his passing, Sunday, July 17, 2011, the CatholicTV Network will take a break from our regular programming to remember "Father Frank", our faithful leader for nearly 25 years. Without his dedication to the "parish of the airwaves," who knows where the network would be today? He helped build the foundation for what
the network has become. Under his direction and guidance, BCTV grew from a staff of three to more than 25 media professionals, the largest diocesan television operation in the world. He may have passed away too soon, but, for one day, we bring back some of Father Frank's best moments.
