This race is Heat 2 of the Division 2 (D2) Girls from the 2018 CIF-ss (Southern Section) Cross Country Prelims meet held on November 9 at the Riverside Cross Country Course. The course is 3 miles. The Prelims meet decides the 24 teams and up to 15 individuals in each division that will compete in the Finals meet held on the following weekend.

Commentary: Brown, Walker and Schultz pass Mile 2 at 12:10. Brown's last mile was ~ 5:48. You may remember her as the frosh who took 5th at Masters in the 800 this past Spring. She will take runner-up honors at XC Finals in a week.
Canyon and MV both run in packs, with a 4-5 and a 19-20-22 from Canyon and a 9-10 and a 24-25-26 from MV. But, it is MV who takes runner-up team honors at Finals.
