On September 26, 2018, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held the first-ever high-level meeting on the fight against tuberculosis, under the theme “United to end tuberculosis: an urgent global response to a global epidemic.” Tuberculosis is one of the world's most lethal infectious diseases. The meeting aims to accelerate efforts in ending TB and reach all affected people with prevention and care. UN member states have agreed on a global plan to step up the fight against tuberculosis.
