The BRICS summit began yesterday with talks focusing on how to spur development and reform international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is in Durban to participate in the 5th BRICS summit. He held bilateral meets with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and Russian President Vladimir Putin.The leaders of Brazil, Russia, India,China and South Africa will also discuss security issues.Establishment of a development bank tops the agenda which if set up would fund infrastructure and development projects in member states and developing nations.
