The USS Stark incident occurred during the Iran–Iraq War on 17 May, 1987, when an Iraqi jet aircraft fired missiles at the American frigate USS Stark. Thirty-seven United States Navy personnel were killed and twenty-one were injured. This is a story about survival, and a first hand account from Signalman Chrisy Ryden. 
You might have seen the News Back in the 1980s, or you might have been too young. This is the actual story, from the signalman who was on watch as the missles closed in.
