Landscape Architect, Gail Wittwer-Laird, spoke at The Sanctuary for Independent Media on April 14th, 2018 as part of the Ruderal Ecologies: Grounds for Change Morning Panel titled "Plants, People, Health, Risk".

Diverse networks interconnect as professionals from architecture and public health sectors discuss the implications that modern landscape designs have on wildlife and the future of the human species.

Gail Wittwer-Laird is currently a Landscape Architect and Senior Associate with Star Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners in New York City.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (1989) and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design (1995).  She also worked as a senior designer for New York City Parks from 1998 to 2016 and was a Fellow in Landscape Architecture at the American Academy in Rome in 1995-1996.
