Hey guys - in keeping with tradition I'm posting a cover of a Brilliant Inventions song because I'm going to another one of their concerts tomorrow at Eddie's Attic. The original version of this song has an incredible finger picking part, but I decided to make this cover my own, rather than butcher that awesome style. I just started trying to learn the song yesterday - so it's still pretty rough. I'll post a redo if I get any better.

I want to go out tonight//Want to come home in the daylight
Want to get stoned and start a fight//and walk out on my tab
I dont know what I need less//Pretty girls or a shot glass
Time dont fly, it rolls past//like a taxi cab
And I wake up feeling bad

Chorus:
This song//beats me like a drum against the night
And Im all right//Im just feeling way too young
And this song//beats me like a drum against the night
And I dont fight it//Even though it may be wrong

Summer fell into autumn//Shadows fell and I caught em
Lies you sold and I bought em//with everything I own
Theres crows nests in the old eaves//crab grass in the concrete
I walked out on my street//and stared up at the moon
We all go down too soon

[Chorus]

Bridge:
For once in my life
I want to do something that makes no sense at all
Something that makes no sense at all.
Does that make sense at all?

I want to burn down my own home//embered coals like bloodstone
I want to be someone unknown//somewhere far away
This Life feels like a raffle//We dont win and were baffled
The skyline like a scaffold//where angels work all day
But even angels play

[Chorus]
