One of the most important aspects of recaulking is cleaning off the old caulk as much as possible! It will literally make the new caulking stick to the appliance as well as it can! The better that the caulking can stick to the appliance, the longer that it is likely to last before peeling. This is definitely my number 1 tip that I tell people before they start recaulking their bathtub or shower!
