Chia Yong Yong explores the hidden disadvantages faced by persons with disabilities in Singapore and the ways the public can change their perceptions of those with disabilities. Ms Chia Yong Yong is the President of Society of the Physically Disabled, an organisation that is committed to working in partnership with people with disabilities to develop their potential. She is also a practising lawyer at her own law firm, Chia Yong Yong Law Corporation and was involved as a member of the Singapore Government's delegation to the United Nations Convention in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Conference of the State Parties, serving as a speaker at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Forum on Disability and Development.
