Another launch of the mclaren f1 XP5 from the parking area as it sets off to set its world record topspeed.
Andy Wallace revved it low in 2nd and 3rd.

Then he overevved the engine to 8000rpm in 4th and 5th, shifting only at 267kmh and 321kmh respectively. The rev limits are at 240 and 290kmh respectively.

Amazingly , in 5th gear the F1 did 200-300kmh in under 9s (0:14-0:23), and 200-321kmh in just 12 seconds (0:14 to 0:25). That is equivalent to a 0-200mph of just over 20 seconds.The 300-321kmh (~200mph) was 3.0s. (Times measured frame by frame).

The standard f1 does 0-200mph in 28s, in 6th.
By comparison, the veyron in handling mode takes over 13 seconds (20.5s - 7.5s, Sport Auto) alone to accelerate from 200-300kmh. Even in TopSpeed Mode, it was famously quoted by James May to do 200-300kmh in 9.4s, while this mclaren only needed 8.9s
200-321kmh of 16.7s and 0-200mph of 24.2s.
The bugatti SS takes 15.1s to do 200-321kmh (22.0s - 6.9s Autocar). and does 0-200mph in 22.0s.
This mclaren f1 also turned out to be just as fast in high speed accel as the Koenigsegg Agera R. Having done 300-321kmh in 3.0s, while the agera R did 300-322kmh in (17.68s - 14.53s ) 3.15s.
This shows that a mclaren f1 can indeed outaccelerate a bugatti veyron, if revved high enough.
