Inspired by "Schultze Gets the Blues," this is an artistic independent film created specifically to win everything at the Sundance Film Festival. Carefully shot in less-than-HD quality, "It's a Long Road, Backholme" is a rich tapestry of determination, pathos and well-seated warmth all captured with lingering single-camera shots. Telling the story of Edgar Backholme, once known as "the man who rolled across Louisiana," this film shows the difficulty of integrating into Southern life as seen through the eyes of a one-armed Canadian. "It's a Long Road, Backholme" stars Kevan Chandler as the indomitable Edgar Backholme with David The Good as a produce vendor who plays an unsophisticated and worldly-wise counterpoint to the stoic hero. Videography by Marcus Miller. Original soundtrack by David The Good. Guest appearances by random children, flies, and a beer can. (c) 2015
