His induction into the Union Cabinet was as surprising as his candidature from Pali in Rajasthan, which came just a fortnight before the elections. Before joining politics, Mr Chaudhary practiced law in the Rajasthan High Court as well as the Supreme Court. He is also a confidante of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
