This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Essential advice for teenage girls, and their parents: Esta's fundamental message is one of self-respect, but she unpicks with humour, honesty and clarity the forces pitted against positive self and body image. Esther Hardy has been working as a Sex and Relationships Educator for over 10 years. Her role involves helping young people to unravel all the information they get in the 21st Century about relationships and sex; from the media, online and in everyday life. She firmly believes that young people are entitled to great sex education – sex education that enables them to make independent and knowledgeable choices that reflect how valuable they are. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
