Xcode 5 Login ViewController Status Bar Style for Custom Screens - Part 4/5

In iOS 7 you can take advantage of the UIViewControllerBasedStatusBarAppearance in your Xcode project files .plist (app settings). Each ViewController can specify the exact behavior when you show a new screen or remove an old screen.

Learn how to get this working in your app so that you can display the correct UIStatusBar style when you have dark and light content in your iPhone app. If you have an iOS 6 app, you're going to want to learn how to update your status bar for iOS 7!

You'll see me use the new methods preferredStatusBarStyle and prefersStatusBarHidden methods in Xcode and Objective-C. If you don't set the setting in the .plist file then you won't see the status bar behave correctly in your iPhone or iPad apps.
