The Gopher softball team was back on the road at Arizona State University, playing in the Littlewood Classic for the second straight season! The Gophers played five games: two versus Illinois State, two versus Northern Iowa and one versus host No. 3/3 Arizona State during February 15-17, 2013.

Freshman Paige Palkovich blasted her first collegiate home run Friday versus Illinois State, before striking again the next night against UNI by hitting a 2-run game-winner in the bottom of the 6th inning. Fellow freshman Kayla Wenner also sent her first collegiate blast over the right field wall versus UNI.

Legendary coach Linda Wells threw out the first pitch on Sunday before the game against ASU. Wells coached at Minnesota for many years and helped shape the future of women's athletics before moving on to ASU, where she continued to coach with great success: you will get to see her pitch here!
