Jubin Jimmy is one of the most upcoming players of Indian chess. His father Jimmy Joseph, seeing his son's talent decided to take a risky decision - he gave up his business making a loss of nearly Rs.2,00,000. Later he tried to join a job, but also quit it because his employer didn't give him leave for Jubin's National Challengers tournament.

Jimmy has taken many risks for his son's chess improvement and today the result is there to be seen. Jubin gained 300 Elo points in two tournaments and at the age of 12 has raced to a rating of 2270. Jubin still doesn't have a trainer, but he makes use of ChessBase softwares, ChessBase India interviews and advice from Sajin Abdul Samad to improve at chess. It's because of sacrifices made by parents like Jimmy that children like Jubin are able to become world class chess players.
