(12 Dec 1985) SP16128508 SOUTH KOREA BOXING WBC super flyweight - Watanabe (Japan) v Sok-Hwan (Korea). Japan's Jiro Watanabe held on to his WBC (World Boxing Council) super-flyweight title on Friday December 12th. Watanabe stopped his local hero opponent, Yun Sok-Hwan, in round five of the scheduled 12-round contest. The South Korean went down three times in round five before the fight was stopped. It was Watanabe's fourth successful defence of the title he won in July last year. The champion, who had defended the WBA (World Boxing Association) version of the title six times before winning the WBC title, now has a record of 26 wins and only one defeat. Yun now has two defeats and nine wins to his name.
