Aquaponic Tumbling Tom Tomato Harvest for September 2013

Last year my tomato garden was somewhat chaotic. I was testing theories in the aquaponics about cloning plants in general and the tomatoes didn't really make it in until fairly late in the season. When they did produce fruit, which never really did get ripe for me, they were all of a nice size but every one seemed to split and crack at some point. In total, we grew some 11 different types in our assorted gardens and we had different levels of success with each and every one. This year I tried to be a little more 'on top' of my tomatoes in the aquaponics. I picked a variety that we found last year which produced smallish fruits with a solid meaty body and in great numbers over a longer season. The 'Tumbling Tom' was a great producer in the wicking bucket so it seemed like a good choice for the aquaponic garden. The sweet Juliet hybrid was an exceptional producer as well but that's another video someday ... Since my grow bed is so very cramped I know this is clearly not the best this plant could have done but all things considered I'm still very impressed. These tomatoes are much sweeter than last years and I will most definitely grow them again next year, but I'll probably change how a little bit ... That's all for now, I hope you enjoy the video!
