This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Emna Hajji is the mother of twins. She soon discovers that her daughter, Malek, is autistic and that's when her fight for her child began. Emna describes the daily challenges she faces to support her daughter and help her fit in the society. She tries to burst into Malek's own world and show her that she is not alone. Unconditional love, patience and hope are all the perfect ingredients for a parent whose kid is autistic. She also insists on the fact that autism is not a disease nor a handicap and that it is just a difference that people should accept. Discovering her daughter's autism at the age of 6 years, this fighter was able to cure her although it seemed impossible to save her at that point. Emna Hajji shares his incredible story with us. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
