(15 Oct 2018) A day after Germany, France and Britain called for a "credible investigation" to establish what happened to Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi, activity at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul where the writer was last seen appeared to continue as usual. The three countries also said they would seek a "complete and detailed" Saudi response. Khashoggi went missing when he visited the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on 2 October. Turkish officials fear Khashoggi was killed and dismembered, allegations Saudi officials call "baseless." On Sunday, the government of Saudi Arabia on Sunday denied any involvement in the disappearance of the Washington Post contributing journalist Khashoggi and warned that any sanctions against the oil-rich kingdom would be met with "greater action" and possible exploding oil prices.
