Tamarah Gehlen speaks to the judgement that we place upon ourselves & others based upon appearances. Through her talk she shares 7 truths to create a path for change in our lives; so that we may get out of 'small' ways of thinking & live largely in ways that promote growth, acceptance & passion. Tamarah Gehlen, LMFT, LADC, CCTP, has been working with families and youth for over 10 years in educational and therapeutic settings. She is a professor at Adler Graduate School and the Program Director of WINGS Treatment Center in Litchfield, MN, a residential treatment program for adolescents ages 13-18. Tamarah is also a speaker, a wife, and a mother. She has a passion for working with women and youth in overcoming trauma and inspiring people to become their best selves. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
