New Star Wars Rebels Character Revealed Meet Chopper, a lazy, cranky (if ultimately goodhearted) astromech droid whose design takes cues from Ralph McQuarrie's early R2-D2 concept art. "If Artoo is the family dog," explains Dave Filoni, exec producer of the show, "Chopper is the cat." Chopper — a.k.a. C1-10P — is an essential crew member of the Ghost, tasked with keeping the starship running and operable for its band of heroes. Star Wars Rebels is out autumn 2014.
