Well unless you use the block feature from the debug code. In Zosa's tool shop you can buy Penguin-feed for 800 meseta. Attempting to walk out of the shop will result in a penguin running by and snatching the item. In this shop the telepipe/ryuka function is disabled. So you can't escape with the item that way. It's not set as a dungeon either. So forget about an escapipe or hinas to help you out. I thought maybe walk through walls would let me leave with my newly acquired bag of ice bird chow. But no. It seems that the trigger point for this event extends horizontally from the door frame for the entire length of the map. Why this is I don't know. It might have been easier to code that way. Maybe the placement of the door or how they wanted to fit the shop onto the surrounding background wasn't finalized yet. Maybe they wanted to prevent players from using cheats to escape from the shop. Interestingly, if you leave the vicinity of the shop on the out of bounds map then stand on the trigger point the game will lock up after the penguin steals the food and runs away. If you are in the black area of the right side of the map the penguin won't even appear. But the music and sound effect will still play. Then the game locks up on you. I had to reload my savestate after that. With the debug code on and block enabled this trigger point won't function. So it is possible to leave the shop. However, as seen in the video, if you turn block off and re-enter the Penguin-feed is stolen upon entering. This is probably well known already since the game is over 20 years old. But I wanted to show all the possibilities I could. Warp codes do not allow you to leave with the item. You transition out of buildings one step below the shadow under the door frame. The penguin's dash and grab happens the step before that. So you'll never make it to the next map without the interruption. This is also the spot where you appear when entering a building from the outside. So re-entering with Penguin-feed in your inventory will trigger the event. As for actually using it... Well it's pretty much useless. It won't heal your HP. I vaguely recall it curing poison when I added it to my inventory a long time ago. But I might be wrong. But even if it does that why would you pay 800 meseta to cure poison inside a single shop? Codes used: Walk through walls: RFPT-J6YE Debug code: FFEC9E:06 The debug menu description (along with other useful info) can be found here: https://tcrf.net/Phantasy_Star_IV:_The_End_of_the_Millennium
