This video tells us a very different story from what can be found in the books of history, and for a viewer who is sincere and seeking truth one should ask why such so called scholars are propagating such ideas about the Quran? What are they trying to hide? Why are they trying to make people believe that the Quran shared the same fate as the other scriptures and Islam is just another religion out there. Fine and dandy. A few things that a sincere truth seeker might find that are not true in this documentary if we can call it such: 1. They are saying that prophet Muhamamd heard in his head the revelations which gives the impression that he was some sort of a mad man and it was only him who heard such things. If I tell you that I am hearing some voices what will you think about me? They are also using descriptions that orientalists of old who attacked Islam used, such as comparing his state of receiving revelation to convulsions and epilepsy. This is false, and we know from history that there were people around the prophet who would actually witness the angel Gabriel coming as a person and revealing to prophet Muhammad. 2. They said that not to much is know about Muhammad and they say many things are obscure... now this is the biggest lie ever, as Muslims know everything about Muhammad starting from his lineage, his tribe, his parents, grandparents, and even further.. We know his washroom etiquette as well as how he slept, ate, and even how many gray hairs he had in his beard (17). 3. They said that no physical records of the history written down till much later, which is a lie. First and fore most the writing of the sayings of prophet Muhammad as well as the Quran started almost immediately after the first revelation. As for the sayings - they were codified in books only later, but there were documents that contained the sayings of prophet Muhamamd. Malik ibn Anas had only one person between him and the companion who walked with the prophet. It is called the golden chain and it goes from Malik to Nafai to ibn Umar to prophet Muhammad. Malik wrote the muattah which is a book of the sayings of prophet Muhammad. So why are they lying? As for the Quran it was written in full at the time of prohet Muhamamd and it was not only in the memory of people. The preservation of the quran was bilateral and started that way from the beginning. The compilation into one book of all the writings took place after his death, and within 2 years after his death, but the quran was already written in his life time and at his death. And they say it was never written down. 4. They said that the word of God was slowly being changed as differences arose from the new Muslims in terms of recitation. The prophet sas recited the Quran in 7 ahruf with different words being pronounced differently, some synonims, some different inflections, same quran, only based on the different way the Arabs would say some words. He endorsed those and it was not an arbitrary thing, it was revelation and no one invented it, and no one was chaning the word of God. But these so called scholars want to inject their own thinking. The arugments taht arose between the new converts were not changing the words of the Quran, it was that some would say that their dialect is better and their pronunciation is better as they were ignorant of the Arabic language, not knowing that they are the same. So the compilation of Othman was only to write down and make sure everyone understands that this is the Quran and it's all one Quran. For more info make sure you visit your local mosque and do some research on your own as well as check out the book http://www.amazon.co.uk/History-Quranic-Text-Revelation-Compilation/dp/1872531652 O ye and in the end - they said that the Quran is not clear, it depends on who you talk to as to its meaning - that is the biggest pile of garbage i have heard. The Quran is very clear - as clear as it can gets WORSHIP ONE GOD that is the message of it, it serves for that purpose. As for unclarity - please do read chapter 3 vs 1-10 and you see if these so called scholars know what they are talking about. How can you be a scholar on Islam and give speeches as such and make documentaries if you never read the Quran?
