Monya Henry learned how interesting older people can be when she was a child helping out in a family board-and-care home. Knowing that aging is a life journey we must all take, she talks about how we interact with the older people in our community and the value of learning from different people in all walks of life.

Monya’s early experience fostered a lifelong appreciation of older people and led to her current position as Resident Services Director of The Village Retirement Community in Hemet, California where she manages nurses and caregivers for a community of nearly 200 elderly residents. A Licensed Vocational Nurse for more than 15 years, Monya also earned a Bachelors Degree in Health Science with an emphasis on Healthcare Administration and Management.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
