Our first boss in the game demonstrates how cinematic the fights can get. At this point, the only Super Art I had was Sandstorm, so it was essentially just using the one move all I could, then using Mountain Crusher (the goofiest use of a sword I've ever seen in my life) to rebuild AP quickly. My only concern was when I got poisoned, since I didn't want to give it a whole bunch of free moves by being busy healing, so I opted to ignore it and keep fighting despite that.
