Betting on how long you will live, when you're already in your eighties, could be seen as a risky business. 

But insurers say an increasing number of older people in London are doing just that to help pay for the cost of their care home. 

Three companies in London are offering something called 'care annuities' which will cover the cost for the rest of your life, provided you pay a large lump sum, as Sarah Harris explains.
