As Nigeria joins the International Public Sector Accounting System, there is a need to educate and train accountants in the Country for continuous reforms in the public sector need to educate and train accountants in the Country for continuous reforms in the public sector Office of the Accountant General of the Federation says this will enhance service delivery by public office holders to the Nigerian people. International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) are a set of accounting standards issued by the IPSAS board for use by public sector entities around the World in the preparation of financial statements. These standards are based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Nigeria adopted this practice as part of the 2012 public finance strategy to enhance service delivery.
