The Evolution of Living Beings Part 2 According to scientists, the diameter of the universe is approximately 80 billion light years Can you imagine that length? In km the Universe is 7.56 x 10^22 km across. Light travels at a speed of 186,282 miles per second. The number of seconds in a year is 31,557,600. So if we multiply 186,000 miles by 31,557,600 seconds, we arrive at the idea of one light year which is 5 trillion, 869 billion, 713 million, 600 thousand miles. And 100,000 of these light years amount to 586 quadrillion, 971 trillion, 360 billion miles. This is just the diameter of our galaxy! Now, this entire universe is rotating because each and every particle therein is in rotation. Throughout the universe, all the particles continue their individual rotation, even after joining together and forming a field. Individual force, after association, becomes collective force. Thus, the whole universe is rotating as a spherical, unified field. Whenever a meteor forms, it has the potential to travel millions of miles and years, and to become a satellite. It may fall to earth or burn up in the atmosphere on its way to earth. The earth is a satellite of the sun and the moon is a satellite of the earth. One day, after billions of years, the moon may be absorbed by the earth. The sun may absorb Mercury, Venus, and the earth, one after the other, according to the gravitational changes. The listener may note that the scientific facts regarding the formation of meteors were revealed in meditation to the author Sri Vethathiri Maharishi in the mid-1950s.
