A man was struck by a vehicle while he was mowing his lawn on C St. just west of 5th St. in Chula Vista. Witnesses say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed well over the 35 mph speed limit. The driver lost control and struck a man mowing his lawn then plowed into a wooden fence. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both men were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Witnesses say the man struck by the vehicle was conscious and talking. No word if alcohol or drugs were to blame. Chula Vista, CA.
