Under the hood is a 260ci V8 with a 3-speed Automatic transmission attached. There has been some recent maintenance done on this Mustang including; a steering control valve and ball stud, sending unit, shocks, rebuilt carburetor, freeze plugs, power top motor, U bolts, driveshaft, front brake cylinder, and fuel pump gasket. Since it was introduced four months before the normal start of the 1965 production year and manufactured alongside 1964 Ford Falcons and 1964 Mercury Comets, the earliest Mustangs are widely referred to as the 1964½ model.
