Jada came to the Good Newz Rehab Center in November 2011, presumably having been thrown from a moving vehicle. She was found along the side of the road by a DDB volunteer, with injuries to her face, legs, and back. She was approximately 15 lbs. underweight.

Although we don't normally take in dogs that are not chained or penned, we made an exception with Jada due to her injuries and need for immediate care. She remained with the organization seeking her forever home since that time, and healed into a gorgeous and full bodied pit bull.

On August 27, 2012, and without reasonable explanation, she was seized by Surry County Animal Control. Ten business days later the organization won her back in a court hearing where the defense had seven witnesses, including a vet who has been to our facility and worked with our dogs on three occasions. The sole witness for the prosecution did not show up for the hearing.

The judge proclaimed from the photos of the day she arrived at the center until the day she left that she looked beautiful and he could see no reason to hold her. He also said that he's frequently had veterinarians testify for the state, but seldom for the defense. The vet testified that our facility is beautiful and that the dogs are all well cared for and are all up to date on all their veterinary needs.

This video documents Jada's return, and the lengths to which staff went to let her know we loved her and missed her, including a bubble bath with gentle oatmeal dog shampoo in Vick's former Jacuzzi tub. She loved the bath, and just hung out in there playing with her pink toy.

Jada is still seeking her forever home as of this posting. She loves to lick and give kisses, so make sure you're one of the people who like that! She will do well as an only dog, or with another male dog. She isn't recommended for homes with small children, or female dogs. If you can give Jada the forever home she so desires, please fill out the adoption form at http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/adopt.html
