Wayan Betet ‘Da Guy’ Merta is the fresh prince of Bali. Whenever any surfing anybody swings into town, Betet’s always their first call. He knows where to surf, where to eat, where to party, and always has a smile glued to his melon. Da Guy’s latest edit comes as a result of him telling every filmer he sees at the beach, “you better fucken shoot me and give me the clip for free otherwise I’II kick your fat ass off this island! (laughs.)” It’s filmed at the usual haunts (Keramas, Canggu, Padang) and a few that you might not recognise. If you know your way around, there’s pretty much waves everyday in Bali says Betet, and if not, “Perfect, let’s party!” All the waves and all the partying sure is glam on the island of the gods, but you know the absolute best thing about being Da Guy? “Oh, free food from the Balcony for sure!” Amen to that.
