Metal Detecting to try find a veterans LOST medals after he was mugged in a park (ep87)

Today the community of Keighley came together united in Lund Park. The aim was to try locate the medals which were lost during an incident where 69 year old Veteran George Gill was mugged whilst walking to the Cenotaph last Sunday.

Supported by our local press 'The Keighley News' and BBC Radio Leeds everyone searched through the leaf litter and bushes for a couple of hours. Even whole families with very small children turned out and enthusiastically and painstakingly turned over every leaf.

Sadly the medals were never returned to George and even though they can be replaced, he says 'It will never mean the same'.
If anyone is hand war medals, or you see anyone trying to dispose of any please call the Keighley police on 111.

Many thanks to everyone who supported this fantastic event.
