Bel-Ridge Voters Say No to Tax Increase for Police Funding

Bel-Ridge voters defeated a tax increase, in what was the only election in St. Louis County. Only 200 of the more than 1,700 registered voters cast a ballot; 64 of them voted yes while 136 voted no. It was a 68 percent to 32 percent defeat of a measure that would have brought an estimated $35 thousand to $40 thousand dollars into the village.
