(13 Nov 2018) The top White House economic adviser told reporters Tuesday, that the U.S. is  "now communicating at all levels" with China on trade.
Larry Kudlow, National Economic Council Director said, "it's pretty clear now that at the G 20 meeting in Argentina there will be talks between the two leaders."
Earlier in November, President Donald Trump said he had a conversation with China's President Xi Jinping, and the two leaders plan to discuss trade at the G-20 summit of world leaders, Nov. 30-Dec. 1 in Argentina.
Trade talks between the U.S. and China had diminished during a growing battle over tariffs.
Kudlow also spoke to reporters outside the White House about comments made by Peter Navarro, the president's trade adviser.
Kudlow said, Navarro "misspoke" Friday, when he said Wall Street was pressuring Trump to make a trade deal with China and that the financial sector should retreat.
Navarro speaking Friday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said "globalist billionaires are putting the full court press on the White House in advance of the G-20 in Argentina."
The White House economic adviser said, "Peter misspoke. He wasn't authorized. He was off track. He doesn't represent the president on this."
