Making of a Makerbeam structure to attach an adjustable (slide-able) end switch to the front of Y axes on a Shapeoko. Includes Makerbeam part list, and switch hole tapping (threading). Parts: - 1x 4cm segment (vertical) - 1x 4cm..6cm segment (slide out) - 1x 4cm..15cm segment (Y slide) - 13x M3 nut - 10x M3 6mm square head bolt - 3x M3 12mm bolt - 3x tau/4 brackets - 1x tau/6 bracket (or any flat bracket) - 1x switch (DX SKU 120309) Tools: - 1x M3 hex nut driver - 1x hex 2.0 screwdriver - 1x M3x0.6 tap + handle (see notes below) Cost: - R&D: 1-2 hours (four iterations) - Parts: 5.80€ - Build time: 12 min Notes: - Bolts are M3x0.5, tapping M3x0.6 for M3x0.5 steel bolts in plastic, forces the thread when driving the bolt, which makes a tighter fit but also a permanent one.
