This is a piece I created this morning called "Avidyā". Avidyā is Sanskrit and means a state of "ignorance" or "delusion". Or as Morphius says in the Wachowski brothers film The Matrix, "It is the world pulled over your eyes to blind you to the truth. . " In that film nearly everyone is living in a dream world fed to them through a vast computer system. This is a thinly veiled metaphor for the Zen Buddhist concept of Avidyā This piece was recorded live -- as all my Zen Music is -- and for those interested in this kind of stuff, I'm using a bass guitar sample that I sequenced and looped and my trusty Fender Rhodes piano (through a distortion booster at the end). And by newest favorite, my Synthersizers.com modular analog synthesizer . So come "free your mind" and enjoy this. . .
