Tossing around terms such as "Obamacare" and "Tea Party politics" the DFL and the Republican lawmakers are still apparently far away from agreeing on elements of the Minnesota budget. The DFL is proposing a plan the GOP backed earlier that would allow Minnesota to get $7 in Medicare funding for every $1 in tax dollars the state spends. Republican Representative Jim Abeler likened it to a "ponzi" scheme. The state is in a financial mess because Governor Tim Pawlenty illegally cut the budget last year after vetoing the money to pay for it.
