Violence in major cities is inevitable. Large populations, mixed socio-economic levels, government mistrust, decreased funding, etc. has led to the exponential violence in Chicago. As a Chicagoan, I felt it necessary to discuss the violence experienced in Chicago in 2016. Is the city perfect? No! Is the city beyond repair? No! Violence in Chicago, while at an all time high, does not and should not take away from the beauty that is Chicago.
