This puzzle uses despawn mechanics to free a mushroom. A powerup takes more offscreen spaces to despawn than a spring, so if Mario goes far enough to the right, the spring will despawn but the mushroom will still be there. This allows the mushroom to drop. Aside from that, this puzzle had a Thomandy-like ending where you had to setup springs in specific locations in order to get a shell to hit a POW when you're at the end.
