Reaching the end, they find Mid but not before going up against a rouge enemy called Byblos. This was a long fight preferrably because I wanted to have it use Magic Hammer so I can increase my Blue magic. Too bad he never used it. Here's Boss #8... Byblos which if you've been counting, it's actually the tenth boss.
