Submission to his Lord the Master of His slaves

Pondering about this life and his position in the grave

Through the winds and the waves

Then revelation was rained down and our nation was saved

 

Skies were locked down no entry whatsoever

No passing of the jinn, not even the length of a feather

Shooting down was Jibreel Iqra was the first command ever

To a nation that’s saved by him “the intercessor”

He is water in times of drought giving life to a land

Like rain that falls down trickling on the tips of dried leaves giving life until it reaches the roots

 

He was brighter than the full moon on a cloudless night never an eyesore to look at Beaming from the painless rays of light on his face.

More than our fathers, spouses, and brothers

Honored to drink from his Kauthar given to us from serving others

 

The best teacher the best general the best husband and more

A man gentle with his words but yet a lion when he roars

Oh chosen friend of Allah words cannot express our love for you

We love you more than our sisters, or brothers, our parents, our spouses

More than ourselves, our wealth, our children or our houses

Ask ourselves how can we not love him

There is no person we would ever put above him

The kindest heart I read about yet never posing a threat

I, wait for the day to give you my salaam, and just to hear you reply to me, will send chills through my bones.

 

 

You say he’s just a human being but a diamond isn’t just a stone

Shimmering from his light a complete influence on his own

 

You were kind to orphans, the weak and the poor

Yet nothing in your house you always wanted to give more

 

The books we read about you will do no justice to you when we see you

The descriptions the Sahabah gave will be nothing compared to the smile you will give us I wait….for that day…

 

Does this world even recognize us without you? 

You were someone in which trees moved for you, cried for you

Your companions gave their lives for you, they died for you

 

What have we ever done for you?

 

I am embarrassed to say I follow you, because all we’ve done is turn away from your traditions

Often occupied with our worldly life chasing worldly positions

 

We say we love you but we turn away from your guidance

Ashamed the day I meet you, will be in complete silence

Of the awe of your presence a day most deserving of your highness

 

A non believer classifies you as the most influential person yet we decide not to follow

Saving us from a day where our hearts will turn hollow

 

You cried out for us knowing Allah will save us

Because of His love for you, you will be able to aid us

We pray for the day he comes and gives us tidings of peace

In luscious gardens where happiness will never cease

 

On the day of arafah telling the ummah to hold tight on “sunnati”

We cry to Allah we are able to hear you when you ask Allah, “Ummati Ummati”

 

Live on his legacy implementing his practices and what he taught us in deen

We ask Allah that he unites us with him in Jannah, Allahumma Ameen.
